Who we are

DGHP has a unique approach to its role as the second largest housing association in Scotland.

At DGHP, we feel that working with our tenants is absolutely crucial to the success of the organisation. DGHP is about more than just new houses – we change homes and transform lives.

DGHP owns and manages more than 10,250 homes across Dumfries and Galloway and we feel that the significant emphasis we place on our tenants being at the heart of everything we do makes us different from other housing associations.

We directly employ 190 people, and through our various maintenance and investment contracts we are responsible for the employment of many construction industry workers.

At DGHP, we are all extremely proud of our achievements.  In our short history we have already invested over £192 million in improving and maintaining our tenants homes.

The area of Dumfries and Galloway is the third largest region in Scotland, covers 2,380 square miles and has a population of around 148,000 and DGHP plays a significant role in many of the towns and villages.

We operate a governance structure that enables tenants to have a valued input into the ownership and management of their homes.

DGHP has four District Management Committees, which are full sub-committees of our Board of Management.
