Get involved

There are lots of ways to get involved – no matter your age, background or where you live.

We have community events – including pop-up roadshows – throughout the year where you can come along and talk to us.

We carry out consultations and host conferences where you can tell us about the big issues.

There's the opportunity to join in a conversation with us on Facebook and Twitter.

We also want tenants to become part of our panels, forums and committees – or become a tenant Board Member.

And there's our annual Tenants’ Satisfaction Survey which asks tenants what we are doing right – and how we can get better.

The choice is yours.

To find out more about getting involved with DGHP – and our parent company Wheatley Group – please email our Community Governance Team at consultation@wheatley-group.com

DGHP Board

‘Better homes, better lives’ is at the heart of everything we do. DGHP is about more than just houses – we change homes and transform lives.

Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) is Scotland's second largest social landlord with more than 10,000 homes across Dumfries and Galloway.

We are proud to be part of Wheatley Group – Scotland’s leading housing, care and property management group – joining in 2019.

Tenants are at the very heart of decision making in DGHP - this enables our tenants to have a valued input into the ownership and management of their homes and communities.

We are looking for a new tenant to join our Board. As a DGHP Board member, you will have the opportunity to be involved in and influence decisions about investment in homes and neighbourhoods, contribute to future plans and scrutinise performance.

We are looking for individuals with good communication skills, who have a knowledge of the areas and communities that they live in. DGHP has a dynamic Board – with a good range of skills and experiences. However, we would welcome applicants from those who are under-represented, such as disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates.

The role includes attendance at 6-8 Board meetings per year on a Wednesday at 10.30amand attendance at 2-3 group events.

For further details or an informal discussion, please contact Eilidh Mowat (eilidh.mowat@dghp.org.uk) or phone 01387 242544.

You can view our DGHP Board members page here.

Registered Tenant Organisations (RTOs)

Tenant groups who meet our conditions can become a Registered Tenant Organisation (RTO). RTOs can get direct grant funding and apply for 'top-up grants' to help them with one-off costs. They represent the interests of customers in local areas.

RTO Committees meet six times per year and are always looking for new members.

They also carry out a range of activities including organising events to improve their neighbourhoods. See our list of current RTOs at RTO Public Register

Scrutiny Panel

The Scrutiny Panel looks closely at how DGHP and other parts of the Wheatley Group perform.

It’s made up of customers from across the Group who scrutinise reports and meet with senior officers to review our service and performance.

If you would like to receive further information, please contact Morgan English on 0141 274 8379 or email morgan.english@wheatley-group.com.

Welfare Reforms Tenant Advisory Group

This group plays an important role in working with us to develop activities that help to lessen the impact of welfare reforms on our customers.

Areas of particular interest include fuel poverty, debt and the provision of information and advice. The group meets approximately four times a year.

If you have been affected by welfare reforms, or if you have a particular interest and would like to join the group, or would like further information, contact Andrew Weir on 07385 401577 or by email at andrew.weir@gha.org.uk
