Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) began another region-wide improvement programme for existing properties recently, with the first installations of the new energy efficient windows going into properties in the Annan region.

This marks the beginning of a contract DGHP signed earlier this year with Anglian Building Products Ltd worth almost £9million which will see the installation of new windows for more than 2,000 properties.

Representatives from DGHP and Anglian were on site for the first day of installations which saw a number of houses fully fitted with the new PVC double-glazed, high performance windows.

The new windows will help improve energy efficiency, reduce fuel bills and require less maintenance.

Tenants in 2,200 homes across the region will benefit from this latest programme which is the second in a series of major investments to help improve DGHP properties throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

Compliments have already been received by DGHP’s Customer Service Centre from tenants who are delighted with their new windows, reporting they could feel the difference immediately with their homes feeling so much warmer even after just a day.
