DGHP’s governing body. Its’ main responsibilities are:
- To provide leadership to DGHP and decide its strategy
- To exercise control over DGHP’s affairs and make sure it meets all of its legal and other obligations
- To ensure that DGHP achieves its overall purpose on behalf of tenants, other service users and the wider community.
The Board retains ultimate responsibility for all actions taken in DGHP’s name and for ensuring the company’s financial well-being.
The Board has delegated authority to the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team to manage DGHP and to direct its operations.
In practice, the relationship between the Board and the Chief Executive is based on working in partnership, and demands mutual respect, trust and support. In exercising their delegated authority, the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team are responsible and accountable to the Board at all times.
DGHP employees are not eligible to act as Board members. The Chief Executive is the Board’s principal adviser, with overall accountability to the Board for the implementation of it’s decisions and policies.
