Employment

It’s been years since I’ve looked for a job, I’m really struggling myself, where can I get some help?

The Citizens Advice service can offer you a great range of free services, a lot of which is available at your own convenience on their website. The site lets you navigate around all of the different questions and queries you might have about getting back to work and benefit entitlement.

The Dumfries branch of Citizens Advice can be contacted on 0300 303 4321 or visit their website here, where you will find the details of the offices in Stranraer, Castle Douglas and Annan.

Dumfries based charity Welfare Rights offer excellent benefits advice. Fully trained Welfare Rights staff now hold a weekly surgery for all sorts of questions at their Lincluden branch. The charity provides vital support for many across the region and the benefits guide on their website is a great place to start is you’re not sure what you are entitled to.

The National Careers service great CV advice and even some templates and examples to give you an idea of format and what should be in them.
