Joint Services Housing Advice Office
The MoD provides a housing service called the Joint Service Housing Advice Office (JSHAO). The role of the JSHAO is to provide civilian housing information, advice and, where possible, placement to servicemen and women and their dependents and to ex-service personnel who are still occupying service accommodation.
The service was set up to provide service personnel and their families with information and advice on the range of civilian housing options. The service was established to provide a starting point for housing information and advice to all service personnel and their families about returning to civilian life.
The JSHAO service provides leaflets with more information on civilian housing options across the UK for service personnel and their dependents who are looking to settle in the UK which can be accessed here.
A monthly magazine called Housing Matters is produced by the JSHAO. Each edition focuses on a particular region of the UK and a unique housing issue. The latest edition is available to view here.
