Preventing and managing arrears when they arise is crucial to DGHP’s ability to provide services and improvements to customers, and to maintain and improve its housing stock. DGHP – now part of Wheatley Group – aims to support tenants in sustaining their tenancies and avoid the threat of eviction and homelessness wherever possible.
We do this through pro-active measures, professional support and customer service. Our housing staff aim to minimise tenancy-related debt owed to DGHP and maximise timely payments of rental income.
DGHP provides a firm and direct approach to arrears recovery with a strong sensitivity to individual customer needs. The objective is to have early personal contact with tenants in difficulty and agree a sensible and affordable way forward to resolve any issues.
DGHP will proceed with eviction as a last resort and only after all other available options have been considered.
